logo & packaging

I designed a logo and package for Woof Natural Dog Treats. The brief was that these were a high end, natural dog treat that you would find at Whole Foods or Bentley pet stores. Dog treats for dogs with owners who care about quality and are willing to spend more to treat their posh pooches. A fun project that I enjoyed, and introduced me to Adobe Dimensions.

Since this was a high-end natural dog treat I wanted to create a sophisticated logo. I found inspiration in pictures of dogs in suits and with glasses to make them look human.

inspiration

From the inspiration, I put pencil to paper and drew out some options for the logo. I thought the serif W with the face of a dog had the most potential.

sketches

I wanted the Woof logo to have some of the dog features so I played around with the W to make it into a face. I also wanted to include a bow tie so I added two simple triangles to the line.

For the Woof logo I went with a thin serif font that had a classy feel that would appeal to the high end dog owners.

For the packaging, I wanted a simple cardboard package that would go with the natural treats. I added a cute pup in a bow tie, because it would appeal to the dog owners. I also found bow tie treats to complete the look. I added a little bit of color to call out flavor and to make the images stand out.

package design

This was the first time I used Adobe Dimensions to mock up a package design, and I love how realistic it looks. It really brought my design to life. I chose a different style for the package, and kept the same visual elements.
