logo redesign
My professor gave me this project, and allowed me to work on it independently. She would check in and give me feedback, and met with the client to go over my progress, but otherwise it was all on me to keep on track, and meet with the client.
I really enjoyed being on my own, and working with the clients. I got a chance to meet with members of the board, and the women that worked at Women’s Resource Center of Racine. A non-profit organization that helps women and families in need of shelter after leaving an abusive home.

design options
I met with the client and the other women working at Women’s Resource Center to talk about what they would like to see for their logo. We did some word mapping which helped me in my design process.
strength, stability, comfort, safety, protection, information, direction, here to help, helping hand, help victims become survivors, transition, positive changes, starting over, healing, helping to heal, moving forward, coming out of the shadows, reinventing yourself, survival, holding hands, empathy, caring, group therapy, together, shield, uplifting, steps - pathway
I met with the client to present them with three logo options. We all agreed that version two was the strongest design. They did not chose to change their logo at the time because they were considering changing their name, which is why I chose to use WRC instead of Women’s Resource Center. I hope that I can work for them in the future.
